<br>Dr Zhu is a Reader in Mechanics of Materials and member of the Institute of Mechanics and Advance Materials in the Cardiff School of Engineering. Dr Zhu did his BEng at Xidian University (1979-1983) and MEng at Zhejiang University (1983-1986). He then worked as an Assistant Lecturer (86-88), Lecturer (88-93), Associate Professor (1993-1994), the teaching board head and deputy head of the Engineering Mechanics Division (with around 20 academics) (93-94) at the Department of Mechanics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China. Dr Zhu did his PhD in Metallurgy and Materials at Birmingham University (Oct. 1994 – July 1997). Prior to joining the Cardiff School of Engineering, he worked as a research associate at Cambridge University (1997-2003). | |||
